ideas for transitional outfits

Hi All,

Happy Friday friends! The weekend is almost here. I am so excited about the fall season. I love the weather, foliage, fall wardrobe, Thanksgiving, decorating for the holidays, etc. however, it doesn't start getting cold until later in the fall so I wanted to share an idea of layering and incorporating items from your summer and fall wardrobes.

I found the cutest kimono that is a perfect transitional piece. It's only $25! If it is still warm where you live, you can layer it with shorts and tees or tanks. If the temperatures are starting to drop, you can layer it with jeans and a top as I styled it here or with a body-con dress and booties.

As you probably already know by now, I LOVE when a piece is versatile and you can wear it many different ways. The kimono definitely falls under that category. You can wear it with shorts, pants, dresses, even as a cover up for the beach/ pool. Great piece to have and wear it during a couple of seasons! :)

In the first look, I kept all the items in a pastel color scheme. Light gray, blush, beige, and light blue wash jeans - all complement each other.

In the second look, the contrasting black dress makes the colors of the kimono look different. Here, I paired it with a wide straw belt, but you could also style it with a brown belt and match brown suede booties with it. That would really pull the look together.

If you are going to wear a kimono with a dress, I think it's important for it to be a body-con shape. Otherwise, the dress will stick out and make it look unflattering. I tried pairing the kimono with one of the other LBDs and it just didn't look right, so just wanted to give you a heads up!

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful, restful weekend :)
